Dorsal Hump Nose Correction

Non-invasive, reversible and with more predictable results, the dorsal hump nose correction – also known as the non-surgical nose job, or nose sculpting – is a win-win for people seeking non-surgical alternatives to rhinoplasty.

This treatment is often required by patients who have just had chin sculpting, in order to maintain the right proportions and the ‘Golden Ratio’ of facial beauty. We also treat people who have had nose surgery already and are not satisfied with the results.

How does the procedure work

The dorsal hump nose correction is one the most popular procedure performed in our surgery. With hyaluronic acid dermal fillers in less than 30 minutes your nose will look straight without surgery or scalpel needed.

After the initial consultation where you discuss your desired results, we will have you lie down with your face tilted up. You may have a topical aesthetic applied to your nose and the surrounding area, so you will not feel pain from the needle.

After the aesthetic takes effect, small amounts of hyaluronic acid filler will be injected into the area around your nose, including the bridge, tip, and sides. You might feel a slight pinching or pressure while this is done.

The filler will settle into where it is injected in your deeper skin layers and hold its shape. This can change the look of your nose for anywhere from 4 months to 3 years, depending on your skin, your desired results, and the ingredient used.

Key benefits

  • Results aren’t permanent, so if you’re not pleased with how it looks, it’s just a matter of time before the fillers dissolve naturally in your body.

  • Convenience: non-surgical nose job is much less expensive than a traditional rhinoplasty

  • Very safe and effective

  • Immediate visible results

  • No downtime

  • Patients can resume work and normal activities almost immediately.

  • No anaesthesia needed.

Results can be seen instantly, with further improvement up to two weeks after treatment. Most filler ingredients will dissolve into your skin layer within 6 months, but some will last for longer (up to 3 years) and improve with each treatment, as the hyaluronic acid builds up on your skin.

The procedure is painless, and you can return to work afterwards. There may be some swelling for up to two weeks after treatment, no glasses should be worn for the first 2-3 weeks and exercise should be avoided for the first 48 hours. The non-surgical nose job is ideal for people seeking non-surgical alternatives to rhinoplasty. It is non-invasive, reversible and with more predictable results compared to the surgical procedure.

Even if you are currently considering surgery, Dr Nina recommends coming in for a consultation. You have nothing to lose!

Cheek Fillers Treatment

Cheek fillers can bring the face into balance by making the cheekbones more prominent. This can give you instant, razor-sharp definition and a natural-looking, youthful appearance. The treatment also smooths the nose-to-mouth lines, effectively lifting the entire face. Temporary fillers are injected under the skin above the cheekbones. We use Restylane Classic or Restylane Lyft.

Marionette Lines Treatment

The so-called ‘marionette lines’ are long vertical lines that commonly develop on each side of the chin as a result of the ageing process and other lifestyle factors. They get their name from marionette string puppets, which are known for having split jaws so puppeteers can open and close their mouths to make them look like they are talking.

The skin around your mouth is thinner compared with the rest of your face, so it is particularly prone to wrinkling. Marionette lines are caused by a combination of collagen breakdown and loss of elastin that leads to the loosening of skin in the cheeks and lower part of the face.

People typically begin developing marionette lines in their late 30s or early 40s. In the early stages, marionette lines are barely visible, but as time goes by these creases can become very deep and noticeable. Once they have appeared, the only way to fix marionette lines is to get to the source of the problem.

Marionette Lines Treatment options

Marionette lines can be treated with different non-surgical treatment options. During the initial consultation, Dr Nina will discuss these options with you and devise a bespoke treatment plan to achieve the best outcome.

Treatment options to get rid of marionette lines might include:

  • dermal filler injections

  • botulinum toxin injections

  • skin boosters

  • PDO threads

  • chemical peels

Jawline Fillers Treatment

Ever noticed that having a sharp, defined jawline is a sign of health, fitness and youth? At any age, a well-defined jaw helps show off a more youthful you.

If you've struggled to get the jawline of your dreams despite diet and exercise, have jowls and loose skin beginning to obscure your jawline or noticed that you may be prone or predisposed to never having a defined jawline despite excellent overall health and fitness, fear not! Thanks to modern plastic surgery, you have some nonsurgical and surgical options available.

Nonsurgical options are best for patients who have mild to moderate fat obscuring the jawline, a fairly well-defined chin area and minimal to moderate loose skin around the jawline. Options include dermal fillers, neurotoxins, fat melting injectable agents and surgical threads.

While some people are born with a jawline they are not happy with, in most cases, the jawline appearance is affected by the ageing process, mainly in two ways.

  1. As the skin loses elasticity and begins to sag, the jawline starts to appear soft and lacking definition. The corners of the mouth also begin to droop, causing ‘marionette lines’ – wrinkles that extend into the jawline – and creating jowls.

  2. A loss of fat tissue often causes two divots to form along the jawline, known as the pre-jowl sulcus, which further accentuates the appearance of jowls.

In these cases, dermal fillers are used to fill in the lines, add volume where it has been lost, create a lifting effect, and camouflage the look of jowls with strategically placed filler. This procedure may also be combined with a skin tightening treatment.

When it comes to using jawline fillers to correct the signs of ageing, dermal fillers are useful to also help restore collagen and elastin, two substances responsible for maintaining a youthful volume and the skin’s ability to bounce back. This will result in the jawline area appearing both tighter and lifted.

Jawline Filler Results

The application of dermal fillers is used to effectively sculpt and reshape the jaw, creating balance and symmetry to frame the face. Jawline filler results are immediately visible.

Using dermal fillers to shape, define, and enhance the lower facial contours also has the added benefit of decreasing the appearance of loose skin and the appearance of a double chin (especially when combined with a chin sculpting procedure).

In men, this chiselling effect can be more dramatic. For women, depending on their desired facial shape, jawline fillers can achieve an angle that can range from soft to dramatic.

Individual results vary, but hyaluronic acid filler may last up to two years, while calcium hydroxylapatite fillers may last up to 15 months.

There are a few things you can do to help maintain the life of jaw filler. These include:

  • avoiding UV light and protecting your skin from the sun by wearing sunscreen

  • moisturizing your skin regularly

  • keeping your skin hydrated by drinking lots of water

  • eating a healthy diet

  • reducing stress
